The Ambronay Academy is a training and professional integration programme for young musicians. As a learning orchestra, the Academy brings together 20 artists, mostly from leading European conservatories, who work together under the guidance of a renowned conductor.
Over its 24 editions, more than 1,000 artists — instrumentalists, singers, and dancers — have taken part in the Academy, and several international stars of the Baroque scene first emerged there (Stéphanie d’Oustrac, Patricia Petibon, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Thomas Dunford, Ophélie Gaillard…).
Since its creation in 1993, the Academy has represented a major milestone in the development of young European artists at the start of their careers. It is now part of the Sustainable-EEEMERGING initiative, a long-term European cooperation project. The mission of this programme is to support young Early Music ensembles and musicians at the beginning of their careers by offering training, networking opportunities, and space to explore and reflect on their artistic purpose.
This year, the Academy was led by Amandine Beyer, internationally acclaimed violinist and founder of Gli Incogniti.
Since the beginning of her career over twenty years ago, Amandine Beyer has performed concerts all over the world. In 2006, she founded her own ensemble, Gli Incogniti, with whom she explores the instrumental music of Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Pachelbel, Matteis, Couperin, Haydn, Mozart… Gli Incogniti has already performed several times at the Ambronay Festival!
Residency at Ambronay & Torroella de Montgrí

The 2025 edition began with a rehearsal residency at Ambronay from June 21 to 27, followed by a second phase of artistic development at the Festival de Torroella de Montgrí (Spain). |
There, musicians not only refined the concert programme, but also took part in mentoring sessions with Olivier Fourès, Carlota Subirós, and Aingeala de Burca encouraging reflection, dialogue, and artistic intention.

A Tour Across Europe
After weeks of preparation, the Academy set out on tour with the programme “Venetian Mirrors”, featuring works by Vivaldi, Albinoni, Dall’Abaco, and Hasse. From France to Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg, the Academicians brought their dynamic interpretation of the Baroque repertoire to new audiences.

More than a Concert Tour!
Beyond the notes and stages, the Ambronay Academy is about creating space — for learning, for artistic encounters, and for growing a shared vision of music-making in today’s world.
We are proud to support these young musicians through Sustainable-EEEMERGING.
We thank all our partners, mentors, and audiences who made this summer journey possible!
