Ghislierimusica – Centro di Musica Antica
In very few years, Ghislierimusica has grown from a small local reality to a centre of high artistic profile, interacting with the most relevant European contexts of the sector, while maintaining strong roots with its city and territory, through an effective and widespread dissemination action, aimed especially to young people. Ghislierimusica is also member of the REMA since 2010.
The centre is active in the field of production and dissemination of cultured music, with particular regard to the research of Italian sacred repertoire of the 18th century. Thanks to the production activity of the resident ensemble Coro e Orchestra Ghislieri, under the direction of its conductor Giulio Prandi, this particular repertoire got spread all over Europe in the most prestigious festivals and concert halls.
Onother important activity is to create a costant programme of events on Pavia’s territory and more, through Early Music concert series (Pavia Barocca, Musica a San Dionigi, Musica a Santa Margherita, Festival di Natale, Passeggiate Organistiche), meetings, shows, open rehearsals, workshops, music in schools, etc… These events are the way to show to people the activity of the studies, rehearsals, and residences, aimed in particular at emerging artists and ensembles selected from all over Europe in the framework of the S- EEEMERGING project inside the centre.
Through the direct involvement in innovative and transversal training projects such the University Choir Ghislieri and the University Ensemble Ghislieri, Ghislierimusica provides also the diffusion of musical culture among the new generations.
What Pavia does specifically within S- EEEMERGING
Many activities of S-EEE are carried out in the historical Collegio Ghislieri, a University College open to the best students of the University of Pavia. Many activities are implemented in order to enrich the ensembles skills in terms of artistic project development, administration, production management, self-promotion and public relations and sustainability.
