Radio Antiqua won two prizes !
After a musically inspiring week at the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the ensemble together with guest oboist Yongcheon Shin, won both the Second Prize ex-aequo and the Public’s Prize at the International van Wassenaer Competition !
Since its first edition in 1986, the International Van Wassenaer Competition has been giving a boost to early music ensembles and musicians at the start of their career. We feel honoured that the Early Music Festival was asked to host this renowned competition for the second time.
This year the international jury consisted of Krijn Koetsveld (chairman), violinist Gunar Letzbor (Ars Antiqua Austria), harpsichordist and conductor Václav Luks (Collegium 1704), traverso player Jana Seméradová (Collegium Marianum), conductor Giulio Prandi (Ghislieri Consort) and harpsichordist Carole Cerasi.
The press jury consisted of Tim Moen (editor in chief Radio 4 at AVROTROS), David Karlin (co-founder Bachtrack.com) and Sandra Kooke (chief Culture and media at Trouw).
The members of the youth jury were selected in association with festival Who’s Next.
