An international tour for the 2017 Ambronay European Baroque Academy

The 22nd Ambronay European Baroque Academy will be conducted by Paul Agnew, who for the first time will take on the musical direction, staging and educational supervision. The associate conductor of Les Arts Florissants has put together a beautiful programme inspired by the story of Dido. As an appetiser he presents us with extracts from the opera Didon by Henry Desmarest, and for the main course the opera Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell. The Academy will be composed of 9 singers and 12 musicians including the eeemerging duo Repicco.

Alongside Paul Agnew, the singers and instrumentalists selected for the Academy 2017 will perform 11 concerts from 8 to 25 July 2017. More than half of these dates are scheduled outside our borders.

The 8th of July at the Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia, the 10th at the Seviqc Brezice Festival in Slovenia, the 12th at the Amuz Festival in Antwerp, the 15th at Castell Peralada in Spain, Cultural Center of Belem in Lisbon and the 25 in Geneva. In France, you can discover this beautiful project on the 13th in Sarrebourg, the 17th in Saint Galmier, the 19th in Saintes, the 21th in Labeaume and the 22th in the Musicales du Lubéron.
