Academy 2017 : let’s tour !

After 10 days of work in residence at Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia, all the musicians of the 2017 Ambronay European Baroque Academy are getting ready to premiere Purcell’s and Desmarest’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’ conducted by Paul Agnew on the 8th of July ! The tour will then lead them to Slovenia, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and of course France! Find all the dates here.

The 22nd Ambronay European Baroque Academy is conducted by Paul Agnew, who takes on the musical direction, staging and educational supervision. The associate conductor of Les Arts Florissants has put together a beautiful programme inspired by the story of Dido. As an appetiser he presents us with extracts from the opera Didon by Henry Desmarest, and for the main course the opera Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell.
