New Century Baroque
The ensemble New Century Baroque is formed of players from the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO) 2009, and draws together musicians from 11 European countries.
During their exciting year of work and performances with the EUBO, the young musicians of New Century Baroque were trained by Lars Ulrich Mortensen, Petra Müllejans, Chiara Banchini and Edward Higginbottom. Inspired by this experience, they decided together to make it the starting point for a longer-term adventure as a professional baroque orchestra.
New Century Baroque was selected in 2011 to be part of the Young Ensembles residency programme of the Ambronay Cultural Encounter Centre (France). The Centre, wishing to provide them with longer-term support, renewed their residency in 2012. For Ambronay Editions, the Ensemble has recorded Mozart’s Requiem and Clarinet Concerto under the baton of Leonardo Garcìa Alarcòn.
