Les Contre-Sujets, formed in 2012 in Paris, is a baroque ensemble who focus on original interaction with the audience and exploring new concert formats.
In 2015, the ensemble was a finalist at the Göttingen Haendel Competition and at the Concours du Val de Loire. Since then, the ensemble have been selected by the EEEmerging project and have consequently held residencies in the Early Music Centres of Ambronay (France), York (GB) and Ljubljana (Slovenia). Les Contre-Sujets have also been invited to the Fringe concerts of the MAfestival (Bruges) and Oude Muziek festival (Utrecht), and have played live on the radio at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
2017 has started with 2 radio broadcasts in Nord de France and the « coup de cœur des Amis du Poème Harmonique » for the innovative concert given next March at La Chapelle Corneille (Rouen), programmed by Vincent Dumestre. In the coming months, Les Contre-Sujets will perform in Festival Marin Marais (Paris), Valletta International Baroque Festival (Malta) and other musical seasons in France.
Within the eeemerging programme, the ensemble was in residence from 2 to 12 August at Ars Ramovs in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and from 24 to 31 October 2016 at the Ghislierimusica in Pavia (Italy).
