The Abchordis ensemble was founded in 2011 by musicians who had taken part in the 18th Ambronay Baroque Academy (Mass in B minor under the direction of Sigiswald Kuijken).
Bringing together musicians from Italy, France and Australia, AbChordis explores Italian sacred music of the 18th century. Abchordis Ensemble has performed in important festivals and concert seasons including: Ambronay Festival, Mars en Baroque in Marseille (France), Les Riches Heures de Valere in Sion (Switzerland), Pavia Barocca and Anima Mea (Italy) and many others. Following a residence at the Ambronay Cultural Encounter Centre in 2012, the ensemble was selected to join the 2015 cohort of ensembles supported by the eeemerging project.
